It was time to move on and meet up with the Rick Steve's Germany, Austria and Switzerland tour. An evening 'Welcome" get-together, followed by dinner and a walk through town was scheduled so that we could get to know fellow tour members.

At the Cologne train station, we had time to practice our transportation skills. The automatic ticket machine, quickly, dispensed our rail tickets (no lines!). While waiting, I shared my solo travel tips which I learned on other tours. A quick study of a platform sign provided us with all the important information; train direction, non-smoking and second class cars and where it would stop inside the station. Our transfer to a different train in Koblenz was smooth - thanks to the excellent time schedules - and soon we arrived in St. Goar.
