The Day 2 of the tour was spent cruising the Rhine River. After stocking up on lunch supplies we caught the boat from the St. Goar dock and headed to Bingen. |

In Bingen, the Basilica St. Martin (left)
was badly damaged in bombing raids in 1944, restoration to
its Gothic style was completed in
1958. The Old Crane (below), which used to be on the waterfront, is now some metres away from the river. The original medieval wooden construction is protected by its slate cladding. |
