Wandering Trier

Originally a Roman throne hall, the Aula Palatina, dating back to 310AD, has been a Protestant church since 1856.

Porta Nigra was built in the Middle ages as a town gate. The entire structure is made of huge blocks of sandstone, connected by iron rods and without mortar.

The oldest church in Germany, Trier's St. Peter's Cathedral incorporates the remains of the 4th century church built by Emperor Constantine.
